Our Philosophy – Health, Temperament, and Beauty

We believe that responsible breeding is about more than producing adorable puppies. It is about health. It is about temperament. It is about being honest, transparent, and committed to the wellbeing of every dog we bring into the world.

We breed for health first. Every dog in our breeding program undergoes comprehensive health testing and receives regular veterinary check-ups. We prioritize the health and well-being of our dogs to ensure they produce strong, healthy puppies.

We breed for temperament second. Shih Tzu are known for being affectionate, outgoing, and gentle. We carefully select bloodlines to ensure each puppy has a wonderful temperament—confident, loving, and well-adjusted. A well-bred Shih Tzu should be friendly, happy, and eager to please.

We breed for beauty third. Our focus is on breeding Shih Tzu that embody the best of the breed—those who possess the luxurious coat, distinctive face, and charming expression that makes them so beloved. From gold and white to black, brindle, and parti-color, our puppies come in a variety of stunning colors.

We breed in small numbers. We have only a few litters each year. This allows us to focus on quality, not quantity. Every puppy is raised in our home, surrounded by family, love, and daily activity.

Our Home – Where Our Puppies Are Raised

Our puppies are not raised in a kennel or a barn. They are raised in our living room.

From the moment they are born, our puppies are part of our family. They are born in a warm, clean, and comfortable whelping area in our home. As they grow, they graduate to a larger play area where they can explore, climb, and develop their personalities.

They are handled daily by adults and children, introduced to other friendly dogs, and exposed to household sounds and activities. They are socialized from day one, ensuring they are confident, curious, and ready for their new homes by the time they leave us at 8-10 weeks of age.

By the time our puppies go home, they have experienced daily handling by family members, exposure to household sounds like the vacuum, doorbell, television, and laughter, introduction to other friendly, vaccinated dogs, a variety of surfaces including carpet, tile, grass, and concrete, and Early Neurological Stimulation during days 3 through 16. These early experiences shape who they become as adults.

Our breeding dogs are not just tools for producing puppies. They are our family. They sleep in our bedrooms. They play in our yard. They ride in our car. They are loved, first and foremost, as companions.

Our males are carefully selected for their health, temperament, and conformation. Our females are the heart of our program—they are adored, well-cared for, and allowed to have a limited number of litters over their lifetime. Their health and well-being come before production. When a female retires, she is spayed and lives out her days as our cherished companion. We owe them that much.

A Note from Our Founder

“I started Amazing Shih Tzu Home because I fell in love with a Shih Tzu. That one dog changed my life. She taught me about loyalty, affection, and the unique bond that Shih Tzu form with their humans.

I have learned that breeding dogs is not easy. It is expensive. It is time-consuming. It is emotionally draining. There are sleepless nights when a litter is born. There are vet bills that make you cringe. There are hard decisions about which dogs to breed and which to retire.

But there are also moments of pure joy. Watching a litter of tiny puppies take their first wobbly steps. Seeing a family meet their new puppy for the first time. Receiving a photo of one of our puppies living their best life with their new family.

That is why I do this. That is why Amazing Shih Tzu Home exists. Not for money. Not for fame. For the joy of producing healthy, happy, beautiful Shih Tzu who will be loved for a lifetime.
